The 2016 edition is taking place at the Residence Palace in Brussels on 31 May 2016. The event provides a high-level forum to discuss crucial issues such as artistic freedom, digital opportunities, fair contracts and sustainability in the digital exploitation of copyright protected works with creators and experts from different fields. The upcoming review of EU copyright rules is also high on the agenda.
Among the speakers will be the the European Commission's Vice-President Andrus Ansip, MEP Dietmar Köster, MEP Emma McClarkin, Maria Martin-Prat (EC Copyright Unit) as well as Ramy Essam (musician and revolutionist), Nicolas Vadot (cartoonist) and Helienne Lindvall (composer). The event will also feature film directors, journalists and many other creators.

The conference is held under the high patronage of the European Parliament and is being organised with the support of the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
